Surrounded by mountains and nestled in a quintessential Vermont country village, the Silas Griffith Inn is the perfect spot for a romantic or family getaway. This Victorian estate was built in 1891 by Silas Griffith, Vermont's first millionaire. Converted to a country inn in the 1950s, the inn retains its historical character and charm while pampering guests with modern amenities and friendly innkeepers.
All of our romantic guest rooms and suites have private bathrooms, cozy fireplaces, air conditioning, cable TV, free local calls, DSL and dial-up Internet access, and Victorian period furnishings and decor.
The Inn has a seasonal in-ground pool and a seasonal gazebo spa. There are picnic tables and benches in the meadows for all to enjoy. We are equipped to cater weddings and other special gatherings, and we offer an excellent corporate retreat package. We also offer themed birthday parties for children. We are 15 minutes from Manchester and about 25 minutes from Rutland's theatres.
The Inn's restaurant, Emma's, is open Thursday-Sunday from 9am - 9pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner by reservation only. Emma's specializes in fresh, cooked-to-order meals featuring local produce from area farms and New England farms.
Pets and children welcome and children ages 13 and under are free in their parent's room as is. There is a nominal fee for roll-away beds. We have an ample library and board games and video game systems in the parlor.
